Pest control

Pests carry harmful bacteria. Its is essential to keep them off your premises.

  • Check deliveries for signs of pests and do not accept if any signs are obvious.
  • Keep all your external areas tidy and make sure bins have close fitting lids.
  • Look for signs of rodents; small footprints, droppings, holes in walls, nests, gnawed goods or packaging, grease or smear marks.
  • Look for bodies of insects, live insects, webbing, nests, droning or buzzing maggots.
  • Look for signs of cockcroaches, such as; eggs and egg cases, moulted shells, the insects themselves or droppings.
  • Look for small piles of sand or soil, the insects themselves or flying ants on hot days.
  • Look for signs of birds, such as; feathers, droppings, nests, noise or the birds themselves.
  • For further information on pest control, please contact your local council offices.

    Your actions:

    1. Keep a log of events - if things go wrong, what did you do?

    2. Establish a pest contractor and keep a record of their visits and actions in your log.

    3. Make sure that checks for pests are carried out regularly.

    4. Train your team.
